Gujarat funds startups via Startup Gujarat, SSIP, seed funding and incubation support.
The Government of Gujarat operates a structured support system for startups through the Industries Commissionerate, under the Startup Gujarat initiative. This covers sustenance allowances, infrastructure assistance, mentoring and marketing support. Gujarat has been placed among the best-performing states in the DPIIT States' Startup Ranking.
Entrepreneurship is also embedded in the education system through the Student Startup and Innovation Policy (SSIP), which supports student innovators in universities and colleges. Gujarat Venture Finance Limited (GVFL), among India's earliest venture funds, supplies risk capital to technology startups. Incubation facilities such as iCreate form a state-wide network, and annual platforms are held to showcase startups and connect them with investors.
Early-stage founders and student innovators in Gujarat looking for seed funding, incubation support and subsidised infrastructure are the intended beneficiaries. Technology and manufacturing startups stand to gain in particular, given Gujarat's industrial base and port connectivity.
