Gujarat's Startup Gujarat initiative, SSIP, seed funding, and incubation infrastructure support startups.
The Government of Gujarat, through its Industries Commissionerate, administers the Startup Gujarat initiative, which provides a structured support system for startups. This system includes sustenance allowances, infrastructure assistance, mentoring, and marketing support. The state has been recognised among the best-performing states in the DPIIT States' Startup Ranking.
Gujarat also implements the Student Startup and Innovation Policy (SSIP), which integrates entrepreneurship into the education system by supporting student innovators in universities and colleges. Gujarat Venture Finance Limited (GVFL), an early venture fund in India, offers risk capital to technology startups. The state has developed a network of incubation facilities, including iCreate, and organises annual platforms for showcasing startups and facilitating investor connections.
Early-stage founders and student innovators based in Gujarat can access seed funding, incubation support, and subsidised infrastructure through these programmes. The initiatives are particularly relevant for technology and manufacturing startups that can utilise Gujarat's industrial base and port connectivity.
