Chhattisgarh's Startup Policy and 36inc. fund startups under the state government's scheme.
The Government of Chhattisgarh administers a mineral- and forest-rich central Indian state with a substantial agrarian and tribal economy. Through its electronics and IT department (CHiPS) and the Chhattisgarh Startup Policy, the state is developing an innovation ecosystem that prioritises inclusive, regionally relevant entrepreneurship.
The nodal incubation and acceleration hub is 36inc, located in Naya Raipur/Atal Nagar. It provides co-working space, mentoring, pre-incubation and incubation programmes, demo days, and investor connects for early-stage founders. Under the state startup policy, support includes a sustenance allowance and seed support for incubated startups, reimbursements for patents, marketing, internet/lease costs and event participation, and preference with relaxations in government procurement, such as EMD and turnover exemptions. Special encouragement is given to women, tribal and rural entrepreneurs.
The focus areas are agritech and food processing, forest-produce and minor-forest-produce value addition, mineral and manufacturing-linked innovation, IT/ITeS, healthtech, edtech, and social-impact ventures relevant to rural and tribal communities. DPIIT-recognised startups registered or operating in Chhattisgarh, particularly those incubated at 36inc or other recognised incubators, are eligible, with relaxed criteria for women and rural founders. Founders in the state building agritech, forest-produce, social-impact and rural-focused solutions should engage with 36inc and track the state startup policy at cgstate.gov.in.
