Telangana was formed in 2014 and has since developed an innovation ecosystem centred on Hyderabad. The state's IT, E&C department and the Telangana State Innovation Cell (TSIC) run a connected network of incubators, accelerators and grand challenges. This network has come to be seen as a model for other states.

The network includes T-Hub, described as one of the world's largest startup incubators, which offers scale-up programmes, corporate-innovation partnerships, investor access and mentoring. WE-Hub is India's first state-led incubator exclusively for women entrepreneurs, providing pre-incubation, incubation, grants and market access. T-Works is India's largest prototyping centre for hardware and product startups. RICH (Research and Innovation Circle of Hyderabad) and AgHub serve life-sciences and agritech innovation.

Telangana runs grand challenges and innovation programmes, offers grants and prototyping support, and connects startups to a corporate and investor network. TSIC coordinates Intinta Innovator, a grassroots innovation programme, along with student-innovation programmes across districts. Focus areas include deeptech, AI, lifesciences and pharma (Genome Valley), agritech, cleantech, electronics, gaming and animation, and emerging technologies. Startups at all stages are eligible, with dedicated women-focused support through WE-Hub and student and grassroots tracks via TSIC; many programmes are open to founders willing to base operations in Telangana.
