About this scheme

Under Clause 14.4 of the Industrial and Investment Policy of Assam, 2019, an eligible unit can claim reimbursement of 75% of the fee it pays either for quality certification or for obtaining technical know-how. The reimbursement is capped at Rs 10 lakh per unit.

Two categories of expenditure are covered.

- **Quality certification** — BIS, ISO, FSSAI, AGMARK, HALLMARK, SILK MARK, ZED Certification and comparable marks - **Technology transfer** — fees paid for technical know-how or technology transfer to a recognised national or international research laboratory, technical institute or university, including institutions such as CFTRI and CIPET

Eligibility conditions:

- The unit must qualify as an eligible unit under the Industrial and Investment Policy of Assam, 2019. - The unit must either obtain BIS, ISO, FSSAI, AGMARK, HALLMARK, SILK MARK, ZED or a comparable certification, or pay for technical know-how or technology transfer from a recognised national or international research laboratory, technical institute or university (for example, CFTRI or CIPET). - The subsidy covers only the fee payable for the certification or the technology transfer.

How to apply

1. Enrol the unit in accordance with the Industrial and Investment Policy of Assam, 2019. 2. Secure the certification, or conclude a technology-transfer agreement, with a recognised institution. 3. Keep the fee invoices, evidence of payment, and the certificate or transfer agreement on record. 4. Submit the subsidy claim to the Department of Industries & Commerce. 5. Claims pass through the state single-window / EODB Assam channel.

How applications are assessed

The department does not select or rank applicants for this support. It checks the certificate or technology-transfer agreement, along with proof of the fee actually paid, and then sanctions 75% of the cost, subject to a ceiling of Rs 10 lakh per unit.
