About this scheme
Under Clause 14.7 of the Industrial and Investment Policy of Assam, 2019, a unit may claim a subsidy covering half the capital cost incurred in establishing an effluent treatment plant (ETP). The payout is capped at Rs 25 lakh per unit.
The incentive addresses units obliged to treat process effluent so as to comply with pollution control board norms.
Hotel industries are expressly excluded from this benefit.

How to apply
1. Register the unit in accordance with the Industrial and Investment Policy of Assam, 2019. 2. Obtain clearance for the ETP design from the Pollution Control Board, Assam. 3. Construct and commission the effluent treatment plant, keeping all capital invoices on record. 4. Submit the subsidy claim, along with proof of commissioning, to the Department of Industries & Commerce. 5. Claims pass through the state single-window / EODB Assam mechanism.
How applications are assessed
The department first checks the effluent treatment plant that has been commissioned, along with its audited capital cost. Once verification is complete, it sanctions 50% of the cost, subject to a ceiling of Rs 25 lakh.
