About this scheme
Under Clause 14.2 of the Industrial and Investment Policy of Assam, 2019, a unit that meets the eligibility conditions can claim capital subsidy amounting to 50% of the cost of a generating set. The ceiling on this benefit is Rs 20 lakh.
Only three components fall within the subsidy's scope: the generating set's cost, the taxes levied on it, and its transportation. No other expense is covered.
Eligibility rests on capacity. The DG set's capacity has to match the power sanctioned to the unit by the competent authority. Where the set is oversized, the full cost will not be funded.
