About this scheme

The State Capital Investment Subsidy is one of the sub-schemes under Banglashree for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, an initiative the Government of West Bengal introduced on 1 April 2020. Through fiscal incentives, the programme seeks to advance industrial development and build a stronger MSME ecosystem statewide.

Banglashree's wider purpose is to prompt entrepreneurs to set up and grow Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises across West Bengal. That push supports balanced regional development, fuller use of resources, fresh employment, and a broader operational reach for the MSME sector, with the aim of placing West Bengal among the country's leading MSME states.

The State Capital Investment Subsidy itself applies to eligible micro and small enterprises located in Zones C, D and E, and gives them direct financial support for approved projects. By easing the capital load, the incentive is meant to raise investment in manufacturing, encourage innovation, and secure sustainable economic growth in these enterprise segments.

How applications are assessed

Applications for the State Capital Investment Subsidy are submitted through an online portal run by the Department of MSME & Textiles, Government of West Bengal. After submission, each application is verified against the eligibility criteria — enterprise type, sector of operation, and commencement of commercial production within the prescribed dates — and both the eligibility form and the Common Application Form (CAF) are reviewed.

Authorities then examine the year-wise subsidy details and the documents uploaded with the application. Whether the subsidy is admissible, and the amount sanctioned, are decided on the basis of compliance with the scheme guidelines and verification of the fixed capital investment details, so that disbursement remains transparent and fair.
