About this scheme

The Department of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Textiles, Government of West Bengal, introduced the "Subsidy on Stamp Duty and Registration Fee (SDRFS)" sub-scheme on April 1, 2020. It will remain operational until March 31, 2025. This sub-scheme functions under the broader "Banglashree for MSME" programme, which targets balanced development and a sustainable ecosystem for the MSME sector in West Bengal. The parent scheme also aims to improve resource use, generate employment, and widen operational scope, with the state aspiring to lead the national MSME landscape.

Under SDRFS, entrepreneurs receive reimbursement for stamp duty and registration fees paid when registering documents within the state. This fiscal support lowers initial setup expenses for new or expanding manufacturing MSMEs, thereby encouraging industrialisation and economic activity across West Bengal.

How applications are assessed

The Department of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Textiles, Government of West Bengal, first checks each application for eligibility and completeness. It then evaluates submissions against the scheme’s criteria, which cover enterprise type, focus on the manufacturing sector, date of commercial production, and proper use of land or buildings for an approved project. Applications that meet these requirements proceed to the next stage.

Following this assessment, eligible applications are handled for reimbursement of stamp duty and registration fees. The amount is determined by the project details as declared and the geographical zone classification assigned to the enterprise.
