About this scheme

The Department of Industries, Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu introduced the Investment Promotion Scheme (IPS) in 2015, with its validity extended to May 19, 2027. The scheme is designed to support the growth of the MSME sector within the Union Territory. Its stated aims include shielding MSMEs from market volatility, increasing their operational vitality, and positioning the U.T. as a dedicated centre for the sector. The programme also seeks to raise women's participation in business, cut local unemployment, and encourage industries to hire resident workers.

A key component of IPS is the Environment Protection Infrastructure Subsidy. This sub-scheme offers financial support to enterprises setting up facilities for effluent treatment, hazardous waste management, and wastewater recycling. It also extends assistance to manufacturing units that produce eco-friendly alternatives to single-use plastic items, helping them meet environmental regulations and contributing to a more sustainable regional economy.

How applications are assessed

Applications submitted through the Single Window Portal undergo an initial screening before being reviewed by the Department of Industries, Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu. This review verifies that each unit meets all eligibility conditions, including MSME status, location, commencement of commercial production within the stipulated period, and adherence to environmental requirements.

Once approved, applications move to the sanctioning and disbursement stages. The subsidy amount is then calculated based on the capital cost of the eligible environmental protection infrastructure or manufacturing unit.
