About this scheme

## Investment Promotion Scheme (IPS)

The Department of Industries, Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu, introduced the Investment Promotion Scheme (IPS) in 2015. It remains in force until May 19, 2027. The scheme works to grow the MSME sector across the Union Territory. Its objectives cover supporting MSMEs, shielding them from market fluctuations, and strengthening their vitality so the U.T. becomes a special hub for the sector. It also seeks to raise women's participation in business, bring down local unemployment, and encourage industries to hire resident labourers.

## Environment Protection Infrastructure Subsidy

A key sub-scheme under IPS is the Environment Protection Infrastructure Subsidy, which targets environmental sustainability challenges. Under it, financial assistance goes to enterprises that set up facilities for effluent treatment, hazardous waste management, and wastewater recycling. Manufacturing units that develop and produce eco-friendly alternatives to single-use plastic items are also supported. The sub-scheme advances compliance with environmental regulations and contributes to a greener economy in the region.

How applications are assessed

Applications submitted via the Single Window Portal are first screened by the Department of Industries, Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu. This review checks that the unit meets every eligibility condition — MSME status, location, start of commercial production within the stipulated period, and compliance with environmental requirements.

Applications that clear screening move on to sanction and disbursement. At that stage, the subsidy amount is worked out from the capital cost of the eligible environmental protection infrastructure or manufacturing unit.
