About this scheme
**Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Udyog Uday Yojana** is an umbrella scheme run by the Industries and Mines Department, Government of Gujarat. It came into force on 7 August 2020 and remains valid till 6 August 2025. The scheme's primary aim is to strengthen Gujarat's Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) sector, which plays a significant role in employment generation, economic growth (GDP) and exports. It is intended specifically for entrepreneurs belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) communities, to help them set up MSMEs that can compete and sustain themselves globally.
The component titled "Assistance to MSEs for Shed Developed by Private Developer" addresses access to industrial infrastructure. Under it, SC/ST entrepreneurs receive support to purchase industrial sheds in mini estates built by private developers. By lowering the cost burden of land, building and basic infrastructure, the component encourages industrial growth and entrepreneurship among these communities and gives them the physical space needed to expand their businesses.
The wider objective is to build an inclusive industrial environment and improve the global competitiveness of Gujarat's MSMEs.

The Industries and Mines Department, Government of Gujarat, screens every application against the scheme's eligibility conditions. Officers verify the entrepreneur's SC/ST status, the enterprise's nature and classification as Micro, Small or Medium, an SC/ST entrepreneur's stake of 51% or more, and whether the industrial shed stands inside a government-approved mini estate. The entrepreneur's 30% contribution is checked as well.
