Generator Subsidy

The Generator Subsidy scheme, run by the Micro Small and Medium Enterprises Department of the Government of Tamil Nadu, extends financial support to manufacturing units. Its purpose is to assist both new and established Micro, Small, and Medium Manufacturing Enterprises through a substantial subsidy on generator purchases.

This initiative enables businesses to handle power supply more reliably, cutting down on operational interruptions and improving output. The scheme supports industrial expansion in Tamil Nadu by giving manufacturing firms access to dependable power infrastructure. It also promotes investment in critical equipment, aiding the economic progress and steadiness of MSMEs across the state.

**Step 1: Registration** Go to the official portal (msmeonline.tn.gov.in) and select 'Login / Registration'. Enter the required details — name, date of birth, Aadhaar number, email address, and mobile number. Set a password with at least 8 characters, including one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, and one numeral. Complete the captcha and press 'Register'.

**Step 2: Login** On the login page, click 'Login' and use the credentials sent to your email or mobile number.

**Step 3: Form Filling** After signing in, navigate to 'Schemes' and choose the 'Generator Subsidy' option. Then, go to 'Apply Online' and select 'New Application'. Complete every mandatory field in the form, review the details, accept the terms, and click 'Proceed'. Record the reference number generated.

**Step 4: Upload Documents** Under 'Schemes', click 'Upload Documents'. Enter the Application ID and press 'Submit'. Attach all required files in the prescribed format and size. Use the 'View' option to confirm that each document has been uploaded correctly.

**Step 5: Submission** Tick all the checkboxes at the bottom of the page and click 'Submit Application'. A confirmation notification will be sent to your mobile number.

**Optional Step 6: Track Application Status** Use the tracking link on the portal to monitor the progress of your application.

Applications are submitted through the online portal and examined by the concerned department (GM/DIC / RJD). The review centres on checking eligibility conditions and the documents provided, which include generator purchase particulars and safety certificates. Once every requirement is validated successfully, the application receives approval.
