About this scheme
Introduced in 2018 under Goa's IT Policy, the Power Subsidy Scheme is run by the Department of Information Technology, Government of Goa. Its purpose is to support the expansion and long-term viability of the state's IT sector by easing the burden of operating expenses.
Power subsidy is extended under the scheme to Information Technology Units, whether newly set up or already functioning, that are established and operating within Goa.
Through this policy, Goa is presented as a favourable location for IT investment and expansion, drawing on its geographical strengths and available workforce. The assistance enables IT businesses to bring down overheads, strengthen financial viability, and add to the state's economic development, in keeping with the wider aim of establishing Goa as a preferred destination for technology-driven enterprises.
