Subsidy Scheme For Establishment Of Goat Unit (10+1) For Scheduled Caste People

The Department of Agriculture, Farmers Welfare & Co-operation, Government of Gujarat, administers the Subsidy Scheme for Establishment of Goat Unit (10+1) for Scheduled Caste People. Its purpose is to support economically weaker livestock breeders from the Scheduled Caste community in Gujarat by funding the creation of small-scale goat farming units, which in turn supports rural livelihoods.

Financial assistance is provided towards the unit cost of establishing the farm, covering the procurement of 10 female goats and 1 male goat of specified ages, along with expenses for food, water, fodder, shelter, and concentrate feed. Beneficiaries must bear 50% of the total unit cost themselves. The scheme enables individuals to begin or expand goat-rearing activities, fostering economic independence and contributing to the state's livestock sector.

The application procedure is outlined below.

1. **Online Application:** The applicant must register on the I-Khedut Portal using the specified link. 2. **New Application Submission:** Select the "Apply Newly" option to initiate a fresh application. 3. **Application Confirmation:** Once the online form is saved, confirmation must be completed within seven days. If this deadline is missed, the application may be cancelled. 4. **Document Upload:** Use the "Upload Documents" function to attach all required supporting files. Scanned copies must be in PDF format and no larger than 200 KB. 5. **Physical Submission / Online Upload of Signed Application:** Print the confirmed application, sign it or provide a thumb impression, and deliver it with all relevant documents to the nearest veterinary dispensary within seven days. Alternatively, after confirmation, scan the signed printout and submit it through the "Signed Application Print Upload" menu, with any additional documents sent via "Other Document Upload" on the portal.

**Important Note:** An online submission alone is not adequate. A signed physical or scanned copy of the application, along with the necessary documents, must be submitted or uploaded for the application to be considered valid. Any incomplete or incorrect documents should be corrected and resubmitted to the relevant office within seven days.

The application undergoes a pre-approval stage. After the online form and supporting documents are submitted, the relevant officer or office examines them. If the application is cleared, the beneficiary is issued an approval order. A waiting list is maintained implicitly; should an approved beneficiary not set up the goat unit within 90 days, or if they become incapacitated, the approval can be reassigned to the next eligible candidate on that list. Additionally, departmental technical officers conduct site visits to confirm the unit's functioning and inspect its milk production records.
