About this scheme

The Industries and Mines Department, Gujarat, runs the Scheme of Assistance for Environment Protection Measures, an umbrella scheme under the Gujarat Industrial Policy 2020. It came into force on 7 August 2020 and remains valid until 6 August 2025. Its purpose is to encourage sustainable industrial growth throughout the state by helping industries adopt eco-friendly practices and comply with environmental norms.

Within this umbrella, the Scheme for Assistance to Environment Management component supports the uptake of cleaner production technologies and advanced pollution control equipment. The aim is to strengthen environmental management within industrial units by making better use of raw materials, cutting energy and water consumption substantially, and reducing waste generation.

How applications are assessed

The Industries Commissionerate first screens applications received from eligible industries. Those that clear this stage are placed before the State Level Empowered Committee, which grants the final sanction of assistance under the scheme after examining the project particulars and confirming that environmental regulations and all scheme criteria are met. Disbursement of the sanctioned financial assistance to the eligible industrial unit is then carried out by the Industries Commissionerate.
