Scheme for Financial Assistance to Integrated Logistics Facilities: Exemption of Electricity Duty

The Industries and Mines Department, Gujarat, runs the Scheme for Financial Assistance to Integrated Logistics Facilities. It sits under the Gujarat Integrated Logistics and Logistics Park Policy and remains in force from 2 August 2021 to 1 August 2026. Through it, private developers can obtain financial assistance to build logistics facilities and logistics parks complete with the necessary infrastructure and logistics services.

One component of the scheme is the Exemption of Electricity Duty, which is intended to support industrial growth and economic development. Newly established units or projects become eligible for this exemption once they begin operations.

The scheme supports the creation and running of logistics infrastructure that Gujarat's economy depends on, helping businesses in the state stay competitive and keep operating costs down. By easing the electricity duty burden, it draws investment into the logistics sector, which in turn supports job creation and sustainable development.

**Registration Process**

1. Go to the Investor Facilitation Portal (IFP) and select "New Investor Registration" to open the registration form. 2. Complete the Registration Form and press "Submit". 3. Confirm your E-mail ID through the link delivered to the E-mail ID you registered with. 4. Once verification is done, your registration is complete.

**Post-Registration Process**

1. Go to the Investor Facilitation Portal (IFP) and select "Login". 2. Provide the email address and password chosen at registration. 3. Press the "Login" button to reach your account. 4. Enter the required details and upload the mandatory documents concerning your business to finish the application process.

**Offline Mode**

**Registration Procedure**

1. Send the application in the prescribed form, together with the required documents, to the Industries Commissionerate. 2. The Industries Commissionerate will examine it and ask for any missing details within 15 days. 3. The application is then passed on to the GM of the District Industries Centre (DIC) for a site visit and inspection report. 4. On the basis of that report, the Industries Commissionerate may grant a Registration Certificate.

**Sanction Procedure**

1. Once registration is done and the project layout plan is approved, send the application in the prescribed format for sanction, along with a detailed project report and the required documents, to the Industries Commissionerate. 2. The Industries Commissionerate will scrutinise it and ask for missing details within 15 days. 3. Applicants have to present their project before a Screening Committee chaired by the Industries Commissioner. 4. After the committee's remarks are addressed, the Sanctioning Authority reviews the application and grants approval in line with the scheme guidelines.

Where an application is filed offline, the Industries Commissionerate first examines the particulars submitted and then refers the case to the General Manager of the District Industries Centre (DIC), who carries out a site visit and submits an inspection report. A Registration Certificate may be issued at this stage.

To obtain sanction, the applicant has to place the project before a Screening Committee headed by the Industries Commissioner. Once the committee's observations are dealt with and the proposal is checked against the scheme guidelines, the Sanctioning Authority issues the final approval.
