About this scheme

Under the Industries and Mines Department, Gujarat, the Scheme for Assistance to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) operates an umbrella programme running from 7 August 2020 to 6 August 2025. One component of it is Assistance in Rent to MSEs. The scheme is intended to support the state's MSME sector, which contributes to employment, GDP and exports, and to help entrepreneurs compete internationally.

Assistance in Rent to MSEs directs financial relief at Micro and Small Enterprises that have taken a shed on rent or lease for their core manufacturing operations. By lowering this operational cost, the component seeks to ease the financial load on such enterprises so that they can direct more resources towards productivity, expansion and innovation. Support under this component is available for a maximum of five years.

How applications are assessed

Under this reimbursement scheme, the application and its supporting papers are first subjected to detailed scrutiny. Verification covers the enterprise's MSE status, the type of manufacturing work carried out, whether the rent or lease agreement is genuine, and evidence of electricity usage.

Approval rests with the Industries and Mines Department, Gujarat, or an agency it nominates. Before any reimbursement is sanctioned, that authority confirms the applicant meets every eligibility condition.
