Subsidy Scheme For Establishment Of Goat Unit (10+1) For General Category People (State - Gujarat)

The Department of Agriculture, Farmers Welfare & Co-operation, Government of Gujarat, has introduced the Subsidy Scheme for Establishment of Goat Unit (10+1) for General Category People. It is designed to assist economically disadvantaged livestock breeders in Gujarat by helping them set up a goat unit. Each beneficiary must procure 10 female goats and 1 male goat under the scheme.

The scheme subsidises a portion of the unit cost, covering expenses for food, water, fodder, residence, and concentrates. Beneficiaries are required to fund 50% of the unit cost themselves. The unit must operate for at least 3 years, during which beneficiaries are expected to maintain milk production records and share information during departmental visits. This arrangement supports sustainable rural livelihoods and contributes to agricultural productivity in the state.

1. Access the I-Khedut Portal at https://ikhedut.gujarat.gov.in/iKhedutPublicScheme/Public/frm_Public_ANH2_SchemeApplicaiton.aspx and submit your application online. 2. Select "Apply Newly" to initiate a fresh application. 3. Before final confirmation, use the "Update Application" button to rectify any errors and ensure all entered details are correct. 4. Click "Upload Documents" to attach the necessary files. Each scanned PDF must not exceed 200 KB. 5. Confirm the application within seven days of saving it online. Without this confirmation, the application will not be considered. 6. After confirmation, print the form, affix your signature or thumb impression, and deliver it with all supporting documents to the concerned office or the nearest veterinary dispensary within seven days. As an alternative, you may upload a scanned copy of the signed application and other documents to the portal via the "Signed Application Print Upload" and "Other Document Upload" options. Submitting either a physical copy or an uploaded signed copy of the application is compulsory.

Applications undergo review once submitted online and confirmed. The scheme functions on a pre-approval model. After receiving pre-approval, beneficiaries have 90 days to buy and set up their goat unit. If this deadline is missed, or if the beneficiary is considered disabled, the approval order is cancelled. The approval then moves to the next eligible applicant on the waiting list, which helps ensure the scheme’s benefits are used effectively.
