About this scheme

The 'Scheme For Food Processing Industries' operates as a sub-scheme within the broader 'Investment Promotion Scheme (IPS)' for Thrust Sectors. The Department of Industries, U.T. Administration of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu launched it on July 3, 2015, for an initial five-year term. It has since been extended and is currently valid from May 20, 2022, until May 19, 2027.

The parent Investment Promotion Scheme (IPS) aims to develop specialised Thrust Sectors, including various types of furniture, with the goal of positioning the U.T. as a furniture hub. It also seeks to raise women's participation in business, lower local unemployment, and encourage industries to employ resident workers.

The food processing sub-scheme provides a credit-linked interest subsidy to support the establishment or expansion of food processing units in the Union Territory. By reducing the cost of loans through interest subvention, it promotes new ventures and capacity growth, thereby aiding industrial development and job creation.
