About this scheme

The Scheme For Food Processing Industries operates as a sub-scheme within the larger Investment Promotion Scheme (IPS) for Thrust Sectors. The Department of Industries, U.T. Administration of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu, introduced it on July 3, 2015, for a five-year term, and it has been extended since. Its current operational window runs from May 20, 2022, to May 19, 2027.

The parent Investment Promotion Scheme (IPS) pursues several aims: strengthening specialised Thrust Sectors such as the various furniture categories, with the goal of positioning the U.T. as a furniture hub; raising women's involvement in business; lowering local unemployment; and encouraging industries to take on resident labourers.

The food processing sub-scheme delivers a credit-linked interest subsidy. This support targets the setting up or expansion of food processing industries in the Union Territory, fostering growth and investment in the sector. By reducing the loan burden through interest subsidies, the scheme backs new ventures and capacity expansion, which in turn aids industrial development and job creation.
