About this scheme

The Scheme for Marine Products Processing Units operates as a sub-scheme within the Investment Promotion Scheme (IPS) for Thrust Sectors. First introduced on July 3, 2015, it now runs from May 20, 2022, through May 19, 2027. The parent IPS seeks to strengthen specialised Thrust Sectors — among them furniture manufacturing of various kinds — with broad goals that include raising women's participation in business, lowering local unemployment, and encouraging industries to hire resident labourers.

This particular sub-scheme confines itself to one form of support: a credit-linked interest subsidy for setting up or expanding marine products processing industries.

The UT Administration of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu runs the initiative, which aims to spur industrial growth and job creation in the region by making capital easier and cheaper for eligible businesses to obtain.
