About this scheme

The Scheme for Medical Equipment and Accessories, Medical Diagnostics and Ayush Products Manufacturing Units operates as a sub-scheme within the Investment Promotion Scheme (IPS) for Thrust Sectors. The Department of Industries, U.T. Administration of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu, introduced it on July 3, 2015. Following extension, the scheme now runs from May 20, 2022, to May 19, 2027.

The parent Investment Promotion Scheme seeks to strengthen specialised thrust sectors. Its wider aims include positioning the UT as a hub for furniture manufacturing of various kinds, raising women's participation in business, lowering unemployment, and encouraging the hiring of local labour. This sub-scheme narrows its attention to the healthcare manufacturing ecosystem.

Financial assistance is extended to units manufacturing medical equipment and accessories, medical diagnostics, and AYUSH products. Two instruments deliver this support: Capital Investment Subsidy and Credit Linked Interest Subsidy. Together they are intended to expand growth, innovation, and production capacity in these sectors.
