Investment Promotion Scheme (IPS) for MSME Sector: Assistance For Patent Registration /Trade Mark Registration

The "Assistance For Patent Registration/ Trade Mark Registration" sub-scheme operates under the broader "Investment Promotion Scheme (IPS)" for the MSME sector. The Department of Industries, U.T. Administration of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu launched it on 3rd July, 2015, initially for five years. Its validity was subsequently extended from 20th May, 2022, and it will remain in force until 19th May, 2027.

The parent IPS aims to support MSMEs by offering incentives that shield them from market fluctuations, thereby fostering their growth and stability. It also seeks to increase women's participation in business, lower local unemployment, and encourage enterprises to hire resident workers. The specific purpose of this sub-scheme is to extend direct monetary aid to eligible individuals and legal entities for securing patent or trademark registration on their developed products or processes during the policy period, thereby promoting innovation and enhancing the competitive edge of local MSMEs.

**Registration Process:** - Go to the Registration page on the Official Website. - Fill in the necessary details and select "Register". - Confirm your email address through the verification link sent to your inbox (if it does not appear, check the spam folder). - Open the provided link/URL or copy it into your browser to finish account verification. - Use "111111" as the OTP to verify your mobile number. Your login credentials will be forwarded to the email address you registered with.

**Application Process:** - Access the user Login page on the Official Website. - Enter your registered Mobile Number and the PIN that was emailed to you, then select "Log In". - In the left side menu bar, choose the “Departments & Services” tab. - Scroll to “District Industries Centre DD & DNH” and select “Click Here” to apply for the “Investment Promotion Scheme : 2022 to 2027 (20 May 2022 to 19 May 2027)”. - A “Common Application Form” will appear. Complete all required fields and upload every mandatory document. - Once all information has been entered correctly, review the details and select "Submit" to finish the application.

Applications received via the Single Window Portal are initially reviewed by the District Industries Centre to confirm that they are complete and meet the fundamental eligibility requirements. Those that pass this stage proceed to a thorough assessment, during which the actual expenses for patent or trademark registration are checked against the scheme’s provisions. Once the verification is successful and the appropriate authority grants approval, the subsidy is released and transferred to the bank account specified by the applicant.
