About this scheme
The Jammu & Kashmir Film Policy 2021 provides funding for **documentary films** that complete no less than half of their total shooting days within the UT. The applicable slab depends on where the film is released:
- **National level release** — up to ₹20 lakh, or 50% of the total Cost of Production (COP), whichever is lower - **International level release** — up to ₹40 lakh, or 25% of COP, whichever is lower
Each slab carries its own trade-off. The national slab offers the higher percentage (50%) but against a lower ceiling, whereas the international slab doubles the ceiling while halving the percentage. Which slab works in your favour depends entirely on your budget.

Submit an application, along with proof of release, to the J&K film policy authority through the Single Window portal (singlewindow.jk.gov.in). 5. Wait for scrutiny to be completed and the subsidy to be released.
