About this scheme
Under the Jammu & Kashmir Tourism Policy – 2020, a Tourism Unit can receive 100% reimbursement for eco-tourism support, capped at Rs 1 lac. The scheme is rationed: no more than five Tourism Units may be sanctioned each year.
Since the reimbursement covers the full amount up to the ceiling, a qualifying unit gets back its entire eligible eco-tourism expenditure provided it does not exceed Rs 1 lac. Given the tight annual quota, the five-unit limit — not the sum involved — is what constrains applicants in practice.
Claims are made under the Tourism Policy's monetary benefits, via the state's single window process, together with the policy's other tourism incentives.

How applications are assessed
The policy sets no competitive assessment procedure. Instead, it caps the benefit at five Tourism Units annually. Before any payout, the department checks that the unit qualifies and that the expenditure claimed is genuine; on clearance, it releases full reimbursement, subject to a ceiling of Rs 1 lac.
