About this scheme

The Jammu & Kashmir Film Policy 2021 provides a production subsidy for a producer who shoots their **first film** in the UT. The amount depends on the share of the shoot completed locally:

- **At least 50% of total shooting days in J&K** — up to ₹1 crore, or 25% of the total Cost of Production (COP), whichever is lower - **At least 75% of total shooting days in J&K** — up to ₹1.5 crore, or 25% of COP, whichever is lower

Because the 25%-of-COP limit applies in addition to the rupee ceiling, a film with a modest budget receives the percentage amount rather than the headline sum. Records of shooting days form the primary evidence for the claim, which means the location schedule carries financial weight alongside its creative role.
