J&K GI Unit Rent-free Stalls

Under the J&K Wool Processing, Handloom & Handicraft Policy 2020, units holding GI certification are entitled to rent-free stalls at exhibitions organised at the Union Territory and national levels.

This benefit operates as a reimbursement scheme. A ceiling of 500 stalls is supported annually across the UT, with each stall eligible for reimbursement up to Rs 10,000. For Kashmiri GI crafts such as Pashmina, Kani shawls, Kashmir carpets, and walnut wood carving, exhibitions serve as the principal channel to reach bulk and institutional buyers. Stall rental frequently constitutes the most significant expense preventing participation.

Given the limited annual allocation of stalls, early application within the exhibition schedule is advisable.
