About this scheme

Under the J&K Industrial Policy 2021-30, units being set up in the Union Territory are entitled to a complete waiver of stamp duty and court fee.

The exemption stands at 100% and applies across all industries, commercial and institutional units included. When a unit buys or leases land, mortgages property in favour of a lender, or executes the instruments needed for project financing, stamp duty ranks among the larger transaction costs that cannot be avoided. Waiving it in full does away with an outlay that would otherwise fall due upfront, in cash, before the project has generated any revenue.

Court fee is covered by the same exemption.
