Under the Jammu and Kashmir Industrial Policy 2021-30, an industrial unit that installs pollution control devices may claim 60% of the cost, subject to a ceiling of ₹50 lakh. Among the policy's equipment-linked subsidies, this is the highest.
The devices for which the claim is made must not have been claimed earlier under CII or any comparable scheme. The expenditure this typically covers is on effluent treatment plants, scrubbers and similar environmental equipment that units are mandated to install. At 60%, the subsidy alters the payback period on compliance-related capital expenditure to a significant degree.
