About this scheme
Under the J&K Poultry Policy 2020, commercial poultry farms can claim a subsidy for the safe disposal of carcasses and waste.
Farms rearing layers or broilers with a capacity above 10,000 birds are eligible for a 50% subsidy on an incinerator. The subsidy is capped at Rs 1 lakh.
At commercial scale, mortality and hatchery waste must be destroyed on site. Burial or open dumping carries both a biosecurity risk and a regulatory problem. For most farms, an incinerator is the least expensive route to compliance and to containing disease spread, and this incentive covers half its cost.
