J&K Tourism ICT Equipment Assistance

The Jammu & Kashmir Tourism Policy – 2020 provides tourism businesses with a one-time assistance covering up to 25% of the cost of equipment procurement or content creation, subject to a maximum of Rs 2 lac, whichever is lower.

This incentive falls under the policy's ICT component dealing with equipment and content. It is intended to support a tourism business in meeting the costs of the digital tools and marketing material required to market itself online — booking systems, cameras, display and AV equipment, or professionally produced destination content.

Since the assistance is expressly one time, it is claimed once against the procurement and not on an annual basis. Expenditure beyond Rs 8 lac yields no additional benefit, as 25% of that amount already reaches the Rs 2 lac ceiling.

No competitive selection process is involved under this policy. The department checks the cost incurred for procurement or content creation, and sanctions one-time assistance equal to the lower of 25% of that cost or Rs 2 lac.
