About this scheme

The Government of Kerala has launched the Scheme for Interest Subvention to Nano Household Enterprises, which supports the expansion of nano and household-level units throughout the state. Under this initiative, emerging businesses receive interest subvention as financial assistance, paid out as reimbursement against term loans taken by these units. Manufacturing, services, and job work enterprises are the focus, given their capacity to create employment and strengthen the local economy.

The scheme pursues several goals: establishing new self-employment projects at the household level, bringing nano and household units together to widen employment potential, and securing stable, long-term livelihoods with greater wage-earning capacity for unorganised sector units. It also targets financial support gaps that existing state or central government schemes leave unaddressed, especially for micro-scale ventures.

Units with a capital investment of ₹10 Lakhs or less qualify, covering activities such as processing, packaging, assorted repair services, laundry, and recycling. Interest subvention is available for the first three years of operation, easing the burden during a business's early stages, while conditions tied to prompt repayment encourage financial discipline. For small enterprises that would otherwise face heavy initial interest costs, this assistance is essential, freeing them to concentrate on growth and stability.
