About this scheme

Kerala's 'One Family One Enterprise' scheme works to build entrepreneurial activity and give women greater economic footing by helping each family set up at least one MSME unit, trade included. Since MSMEs lean heavily on bank finance, the scheme steps in with early-stage support meant to sharpen their competitive edge.

Interest subvention is available on Term Loans and/or Working Capital Loans that MSME units take from institutions such as Nationalized Banks, Scheduled Banks, KSIDC, KFC, KSFE, and Kerala Bank. Manufacturing, service, and trading units may all apply.

Half the beneficiaries are to be women entrepreneurs — a target built into the scheme to spread economic participation more evenly across the state.

Assistance covers loan amounts up to ₹10 lakh for fixed capital and/or working capital, and runs for five years, easing the financial load on enterprises that are just starting out.

How applications are assessed

The Assistant District Industries Officer (ADIO) at the Taluk Industries Office screens applications first and serves as the recommending authority. The ADIO checks eligibility before forwarding the application, along with a recommendation, to the General Manager (GM) of the District Industries Centre, who holds sanctioning powers.

Completed applications free of defects must be disposed of by the GM within 15 days of receipt. The applicant is informed of the decision either directly or electronically. Disbursement of the assistance takes place through the financing institution once the applicant has executed a legal agreement with the sanctioning authority.
