Nagaland Power Line Drawal Subsidy

Clause 6.7 of NTIIP 2025 tackles a genuine expense faced by factories set up at a distance from developed industrial zones: bringing grid power up to the gate. Where an eligible industrial unit lies outside the notified developed infrastructure and the Government has approved its location, the State refunds the expenditure incurred on drawing a 33/11KV line, capped at Rs 10.00 lakh.

The benefit is one-time in nature — a unit may claim it only once — and therefore it makes sense to seek it against the entire line-drawal cost instead of splitting the claim.

1. Secure the State Government's approval for the unit's location, either prior to starting the line-drawal work or at the same time as it. 2. Have the 33/11KV line drawn, and settle the cost with the power department or the contractor. 3. File an application with the Nagaland Department of Industries and Commerce as provided under clause 6.7 of the NTIIP. 4. Attach the estimate for the line-drawal cost, the paid bills, and the completion certificate issued by the electricity department.

Before any reimbursement is released, the Department carries out checks on three points: whether the unit falls outside the notified developed infrastructure, whether the location had Government approval, and whether the line-drawal cost is backed by documentation.
