About this scheme

The Refrigerated Vehicles scheme operates as a component of the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY). It is centrally sponsored and implemented by the Fisheries Department, Government of Haryana. The scheme focuses on strengthening cold chain infrastructure in the fisheries sector to support hygienic and efficient movement of fish produce.

Financial assistance is provided for the purchase of refrigerated vehicles, which helps preserve the freshness and quality of fish during post-harvest handling and transport. This reduces spoilage, improves market access, and supports the livelihoods of fishers. The programme reflects an effort to modernise the fishing industry and reinforce the value chain from catch to consumer.
