Employment Incentive

The "Employment Incentive" operates as a component of the "Motivation of Entrepreneurs to Start Industries and Fiscal Assistance to Industries" Scheme, administered by the Industries and Commerce Department, Union Territory of Puducherry. Its purpose is to stimulate industrial growth and employment within the UT through fiscal support directed at new enterprises.

Under this provision, eligible units receive a wage or employment subsidy equal to 20% of the salary, subject to a ceiling of ₹5,00,000 per annum, for employees whose earnings fall under the Provident Fund (PF) coverage. The incentive applies to new units that begin production on or after August 2, 2004, and remains available for five years from the date production commences. By lowering employment-related operational expenses for newly established industries, the measure seeks to create a conducive environment for business expansion and job generation in Puducherry.

- **Step 1: Download the Form**: Access the prescribed application form from the official website of the Directorate of Industries and Commerce, Puducherry. - **Step 2: Fill in the Details**: Complete every mandatory field on the form and enclose photocopies of all necessary documents. Where required, self-attest the copies. - **Step 3: Submit the Application**: Hand over the fully completed and signed form, together with the supporting paperwork, to the designated officer in the Industries Department. - **Step 4: Obtain an Acknowledgement**: Ask the receiving authority for a receipt or acknowledgement that records the submission date, time, and, where applicable, a unique identification number. - The Industries Department will assess the application and grant approval without referring it to the State Level Committee.

The Industries Department handles the processing of applications to secure the requisite approvals. This particular incentive does not require referral to the State Level Committee. The main assessment checks that the industrial unit meets the eligibility conditions and that all submitted paperwork is thorough and correct.
