About this scheme
Punjab's Industrial and Business Development Policy 2022, clause 12.8 D 15, allows an MSME unit to recover a portion of the fee it pays for a rating obtained under the Government of India's Performance and Credit Rating Scheme. The State's reimbursement is 25% of that fee, capped at ₹10,000.
This amount is separate from, and additional to, the subsidy the Ministry of MSME already provides under the central scheme. The result is that a unit's net out-of-pocket expense for obtaining a credit rating is reduced further.
Banks frequently extend cheaper working-capital limits on the strength of a credit rating. The State incentive is therefore intended to bring the cost of a first rating within reach of small units.
