About this scheme
Under Clause 12.8 C(12) of the Industrial and Business Development Policy 2022 of Punjab, the capital cost of environmental compliance equipment is shared with the unit that installs it. For an effluent treatment plant, water pollution control devices, or zero liquid discharge technology, the state bears 50% of the capital cost, capped at INR 25 lakh.
The claim may be made once over the period the policy remains in force. Water-intensive units — textiles, dyeing, electroplating and food processing among them — rely on this clause to bring a compliant discharge setup within reach.

How to apply
1. Obtain consent or approval for the pollution control installation from the Punjab Pollution Control Board. 2. File the application on the Invest Punjab Business First portal under the Industrial and Business Development Policy 2022. 3. Provide the capital cost invoices together with evidence of commissioning for the ETP, control devices or ZLD system.
