About this scheme
Under Clause 12.8 A(3) of the Industrial and Business Development Policy 2022 of Punjab, an interest subsidy of 5% per annum is available to MSME units. Two routes to eligibility exist. The first is location: units situated in border districts or Kandi areas qualify. The second is ownership: enterprises owned by women or by SC entrepreneurs qualify wherever they are located in the state.
The subsidy carries a ceiling of INR 5 lakh per year and is payable over five years.
Since location and ownership operate as alternative qualifying routes, a unit in a border district qualifies irrespective of its ownership, while a women- or SC-owned enterprise qualifies irrespective of its location within Punjab.
