About this scheme
Under Clause 12.8 D(14) of the Industrial and Business Development Policy 2022, Punjab reimburses MSMEs for 75% of what they spend on patent registration. The reimbursement is capped at INR 10 lakh for a domestic patent and INR 20 lakh for an international patent, and can be claimed once over the policy's validity period.
The larger ceiling is relevant for international filings — PCT national phase entries in multiple jurisdictions, each carrying attorney and translation costs — because such filings usually exceed what a small manufacturer would otherwise allocate to IP.
