About this scheme

Under Clause 12.8 D 19 of the Industrial and Business Development Policy 2022, Punjab offers MSMEs a stall rent subsidy so they can exhibit at local, national and international events.

For overseas International Trade Fairs, the State bears half the total rent, capped at ₹5 lakh. For Domestic Trade Fairs and Exhibitions, it covers 25% of total rent, up to ₹3 lakh.

Space at the Punjab pavilion during Progressive Punjab events and conferences carries no charge.

Since stall rent tends to be the heaviest item in an exhibition budget, the scheme targets units that have a marketable product but cannot absorb the expense of an overseas booth alone.

How applications are assessed

The department does not rank or compare applicants for this support. It checks two things: that the MSME unit met the eligibility conditions and took part in the fair, and that the rent claimed was actually paid. Once both are confirmed, the reimbursement is worked out at the applicable rate of 50% or 25%, subject to the ceiling that goes with it.
