About this scheme

Rajasthan Investment Promotion Scheme (RIPS) 2024 provides support for green capital expenditure by knowledge-economy units. A research and development centre, Global Capability Centre (GCC) or test laboratory that carries out green initiatives or creates sustainability-focused innovations is eligible for a 25% subsidy on the cost of setting up environmental projects, subject to a ceiling of INR 1 crore.

Environmental projects, in this context, refer to the plant and systems a unit installs to reduce its own environmental footprint — effluent and waste treatment, emission control, water recycling and comparable installations.

The unit must incur the expenditure first and then claim the subsidy against the documented project cost. The incentive therefore operates as a partial reimbursement of capital expenditure, not as upfront funding. Claims are made under the RIPS 2024 process through Rajasthan's single-window investment portal.

There is no competitive selection involved. Before the 25% subsidy, capped at INR 1 crore, is sanctioned, the department checks the unit's category, the nature of the environmental project, and the cost claimed.

Frequently asked questions

How much can I claim?

The scheme covers 25% of the cost of setting up environmental projects, subject to a ceiling of INR 1 crore.

Who is eligible?

R&D centres, Global Capability Centres and test labs qualify when they carry out green initiatives or build innovations that improve sustainability.

Is the money paid upfront?

No. The subsidy is paid against the cost of setting up the project, so you must first incur the expenditure and then claim reimbursement for it.

What counts as an environmental project?

The clause covers the cost of setting up environmental projects at the unit, and you must document the installation and its cost when you claim.

Can I combine it with other RIPS green incentives?

It belongs to the same green incentive block as the captive renewable duty exemption and the consent fee waiver, and is claimed through the RIPS 2024 application.

Where do I apply?

Rajasthan's single-window investment portal, Rajnivesh, is where RIPS 2024 applications are filed.
