About this scheme
Under the Rajasthan Investment Promotion Scheme 2024, brownfield units can now access the captive renewable energy concession. An enterprise that already holds investments in Rajasthan and has Eligible Fixed Capital Investment of INR 50 crore or more qualifies for a complete electricity duty exemption on captive renewable energy generation, valid for seven years.
Applicants must not be drawing benefits under any earlier RIPS at the time of claim. As the relief takes the form of an exemption and not a refund, no duty is levied on captive generation for the duration of the benefit period.
This concession falls within the scheme's green incentives category. Benefits in that category are subject to a shared ceiling and are paid out across ten years. Claims are filed via Rajasthan's single-window investment portal.
