About this scheme
The Sikhligar’s Community Development Scheme, introduced by the Minorities Welfare Department, Government of Karnataka, is administered by the Karnataka Minorities Development Corporation. It targets the Sikhligara community, which is largely based in Karnataka and depends on ironware welding and fabrication for its livelihood. The initiative offers financial support to enable members to set up micro-enterprises or purchase commercial vehicles, helping them broaden their sources of income.
This support is intended for first-generation entrepreneurs and self-employed individuals from the community, assisting them in moving from subsistence-level work to more stable business activities. The scheme reflects the government’s effort to address socio-economic disadvantages faced by specific groups through focused assistance.
