About this scheme
Introduced in 2018 under Goa's Information Technology Policy, the Solar Power Subsidy Scheme targets IT units operating within the state. The Department of Information Technology, Government of Goa, administers the programme to assist both new and established IT businesses in shifting to 100% solar energy for their operations.
The scheme offsets part of the capital expenditure involved in solar power generation. This reduces operational costs for IT firms and supports Goa's objective of building a strong base for IT companies, attracting investment, and enabling business expansion. The subsidy encourages the adoption of renewable energy, contributing to a greener economy and a more resilient energy infrastructure across the state.
