About this scheme
The Micro Small and Medium Enterprises Department, Government of Tamil Nadu, runs this scheme to support innovation and lower the cost MSMEs face when protecting their intellectual property. It provides a direct subsidy covering expenses tied to Trade Mark Registration or Geographical Indications (GI), in India as well as abroad, so that manufacturing MSMEs in Tamil Nadu can set their offerings apart and compete more effectively. Intellectual property is increasingly seen as a key asset for business growth and market leadership.
Claims up to ₹1,00,000 need no additional documents, which keeps the reimbursement process simple for beneficiaries. The support extends beyond application costs to include first-time maintenance fees, giving assistance across the early stages of IP protection.
The scheme is intended to build an ecosystem of innovation in the state, encouraging MSMEs to develop, protect and use their intellectual assets for sustainable development and economic prosperity.
