Reimbursement of Stamp Duty and Registration Charges

The Micro Small and Medium Enterprises Department of the Government of Tamil Nadu operates the Reimbursement of Stamp Duty and Registration Charges scheme. It addresses the cost that Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) bear on stamp duty and registration charges when they buy land for industrial use in notified backward blocks of the state.

By returning these charges to the enterprise, the scheme lowers the expense of setting up or expanding manufacturing units in districts that have attracted less industrial investment. The intended outcome is a more even spread of economic development across Tamil Nadu.

1. **Registration:** Go to the MSME Department, Government of Tamil Nadu's official website/portal and select 'Login / Registration'. Enter the required details (Name, Date of Birth, Aadhaar, Email, Mobile), set a password (minimum 8 characters, including 1 uppercase letter, 1 lowercase letter and 1 numeric character), complete the captcha, then click 'Register'. 2. **Login:** Open the Login Page, click 'Login', and key in the credentials sent to you by email/SMS. 3. **Form Filling:** Once logged in, hover over 'Schemes', select the relevant scheme, then hover over 'Apply Online' and click 'New Application'. Complete every mandatory field in the Application Form, review it, accept the terms, and click 'Proceed'. Make a note of the reference number. 4. **Upload Documents:** Hover over 'Schemes' and click 'Upload Documents'. Enter the Application ID, click 'Submit', and upload each mandatory document in the prescribed format/size. Confirm the uploaded documents. 5. **Submission:** Tick all the checkboxes at the bottom of the screen and click 'Submit Application'. A submission confirmation message will arrive on your mobile phone. 6. **(Optional) Track Application Status:** You may check your application's status on the portal, which can also send updates by email or SMS.
