About this scheme
The Micro Small and Medium Enterprises Department, Government of Tamil Nadu, operates the "Grant of Quality Certification Reimbursement of Charges" scheme. Its purpose is to help MSMEs obtain quality standards and certifications for their processes and products, along with any other international quality certification that a competent authority in India recognises.
The scheme seeks to strengthen the competitiveness and product quality of MSMEs in the state, enabling them to satisfy global standards and gain better market access.
Under the scheme, the government reimburses, directly, the payments that enterprises make to consultancy and certification agencies for securing quality certifications at both national and international level. This eases the cost burden of quality assurance for small and medium enterprises.
By assisting MSMEs in reaching these benchmarks, the scheme adds to industrial growth and quality improvement across Tamil Nadu.

How applications are assessed
Applications for the Quality Certification Reimbursement scheme are filed online and reviewed by the Micro Small and Medium Enterprises Department, Government of Tamil Nadu, through the GM/DIC or RJD. A selection committee checks that the applicant MSME satisfies every stated eligibility criterion and that the supporting documents — including payment proofs for consultancy and certification — are valid and complete.
Approval rests on verifying that the certifications obtained and the expenses claimed are authentic. Reimbursement is processed only once the application is found to comply with the scheme guidelines.
