About this scheme

The Tripura Industrial Investment Promotion Incentives Scheme, 2022 covers two quality and technology costs incurred by eligible industrial enterprises. The first is the fee for obtaining and renewing Standard Certifications across 12 selected areas, issued by national or international bodies. The second is a one-time fee for technical know-how or technology transfer from a recognised national or international organisation. This record corresponds to that incentive, under section 6.

Reimbursement is stated in full. The clause fixes no rupee ceiling. An enterprise pays the certifying body or the technology licensor, then claims the amount back from the Department of Industries and Commerce. Renewal of those Standard Certifications is likewise reimbursed in full. The technology-transfer or know-how reimbursement is available once only.

The clause names the 12 selected areas by count, without listing the individual standards. Issuing bodies may be national or international. Technology transfer must originate from a recognised national or international organisation; an informal arrangement with an unrecognised party falls outside the clause.

Eligible industrial enterprises in Tripura that obtain these certifications or this know-how may claim. The scheme operates on a rolling basis under TIIPIS 2022, and this clause carries no deadline. Applications go through SWAAGAT and via the District Industries Centre. Retain invoices from the certification body or transferor, proof that the certificate was granted or the transfer effected, and proof of payment. Since the clause provides full reimbursement with no rupee cap, this record sets neither amount_min nor amount_max.

The incentive is neither a consulting retainer from the State nor equity. It refunds fees already paid for the listed certifications and for one recognised technology transfer.

Eligibility conditions:

- The industrial enterprise must be located in Tripura. - The enterprise must obtain Standard Certifications in the 12 selected areas, issued by national or international bodies, and/or obtain technical know-how or technology transfer from a recognised national or international organisation. - Renewal of those Standard Certifications also qualifies for full reimbursement. - Reimbursement of the technology-transfer fee is available once only. - The claim must be made after the fees become payable or have been paid; it is not an advance to the certifying body. - The clause states no rupee ceiling.

How to apply

- Verify that the unit qualifies as an eligible industrial enterprise in Tripura. - Secure the Standard Certification (or its renewal) in any one of the 12 selected areas from a national or international body, and/or finish a recognised technology transfer; remit the fee and retain the invoice. - Submit the TIIPIS 2022 certification / know-how claim on SWAAGAT (https://swaagat.tripura.gov.in/) and at the District Industries Centre. - Enclose the certificate or transfer document, the fee invoice, proof of payment, and the unit's papers. - Respond to any query regarding whether the standard falls within the 12 selected areas or whether the transferor is a recognised organisation. - Once approved, the Department reimburses the eligible fees in full, as the clause provides. Reimbursement for technology transfer is one time.

How applications are assessed

The Department of Industries and Commerce, together with the District Industries Centre, verifies three things: that the applicant qualifies as an eligible Tripura industrial enterprise; that the Standard Certification falls within the 12 selected areas and was granted by a national or international body; and that any know-how claim represents a one-time fee paid to a recognised national or international organisation. No pitch is involved.

Claims are rejected where the issuer is unrecognised, where the area lies outside the selected twelve, or where a second technology-transfer fee is sought after the one-time benefit has already been availed. Where a fee is approved, it is reimbursed in full — the clause prescribes no rupee cap.

Frequently asked questions

Is certification fully reimbursed or only a percentage?

The clause provides full reimbursement of the fees and charges incurred for obtaining Standard Certifications, as well as for their subsequent renewal, across 12 selected areas, where such certifications are issued by national and international bodies.

Is there a rupee cap?

This clause sets no rupee ceiling on the claim, which follows the eligible fee; no cap should be assumed beyond what is stated here.

Does renewal of a certificate qualify?

Yes. The full-reimbursement terms for those Standard Certifications cover subsequent renewals as well.

What about technology know-how?

Fees paid to any recognised national or international organisation for technical know-how or technology transfer are reimbursed in full, as a one-time payment.

Who can claim?

Industrial enterprises in Tripura qualify if they hold one of the specified Standard Certifications or have completed a recognised technology transfer.

Where do I apply?

Applications are submitted through SWAAGAT at https://swaagat.tripura.gov.in/ or via the District Industries Centre under the Department of Industries and Commerce, Government of Tripura. As TIIPIS 2022 is a rolling scheme, this clause carries no deadline.

What proof should I keep?

The Department requires the certificate or transfer agreement, invoices issued by the national or international body or recognised organisation, and proof of payment; it will verify that the certification falls within the 12 selected areas and that the transferor is recognised.
