About this scheme

## Tripura Industrial Investment Promotion Incentives Scheme, 2022 (TIIPIS 2022)

The Department of Industries and Commerce, Government of Tripura, runs the Tripura Industrial Investment Promotion Incentives Scheme, 2022 (TIIPIS 2022). Under this scheme, a Tripura industrial enterprise can recover a portion of what it spends on participating in State and national level fairs and exhibitions.

The scheme reimburses 50% of the expenditure incurred on travelling expenses for one person and on transportation of goods. Each participation is capped at Rs.1.00 lakh, and a unit may take part in a maximum of 2 fairs in a year. The Rs.1.00 lakh ceiling applies per participation. The two-fair limit restricts how many times a unit may claim in a year; it does not double the rupee ceiling and should not be read as a two-lakh award.

This is a standalone incentive — incentive 10 of TIIPIS 2022 — claimed through that scheme's process. It is separate from the export-promotion subsidy and from the State transport subsidy for secondary raw materials. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, with no advertised closing date, through the State's SWAAGAT single-window portal at https://swaagat.tripura.gov.in/.

The payment is a reimbursement, not a loan and not equity. The unit attends an eligible State or national fair, retains tickets and goods-transport bills covering one traveller plus the exhibits, and then claims 50% of those costs, up to Rs.1.00 lakh for that participation. International fairs, where contemplated, require prior approval. This clause states no sector list, imposes no DPIIT Startup India mandate, and carries no relocation requirement. Founders retain their equity. The reimbursement is not repayable. The Department verifies the fair, the one-person travel rule, the goods-transport bills, the per-participation ceiling, and that the unit has not already used both of its two fairs for the year.

How applications are assessed

There is no competitive element and no pitch stage. The Department of Industries and Commerce reviews every claim for compliance with the TIIPIS 2022 fairs clause, checking that the applicant is an eligible industrial enterprise, that the fair is a State or national one (or that prior approval was obtained for an international fair), that travel is confined to one person in addition to goods transport, that the claim stays within the Rs.1.00 lakhs ceiling per participation, and that no more than two fairs are claimed in the year. Where a claim breaches the one-person travel rule, the per-participation ceiling, or the two-fair annual limit, it is reduced or rejected.

Once verified, claims are reimbursed at 50% of eligible costs, subject to a maximum of Rs.1.00 lakh per participation. No ranking of applicants against one another takes place.

Frequently asked questions

How much can I claim for one fair?

Half the travel cost for one person and the cost of moving goods are covered, capped at Rs.1.00 lakhs per participation.

If I attend two fairs, is the cap Rs.2 lakh?

No. The cap is Rs.1.00 lakhs for each participation, and the two-fair limit merely restricts the number of claims you can make in a year; it does not increase the amount payable.

Whose travel is covered?

What does the scheme cover for trade fair participation? It covers the travel expenses of one person along with the cost of transporting goods to the fair.

Which fairs qualify?

State and national level fairs are covered. International fairs require prior approval.

Is this a loan or does the State take equity?

It is neither a loan nor an equity investment: the amount is provided as a subsidy reimbursement, which means it is free of equity dilution and does not have to be repaid.

Where do I apply?

The Government of Tripura's SWAAGAT single-window portal, available at https://swaagat.tripura.gov.in/, is the route for applying under TIIPIS 2022.

Is there a deadline?

The scheme operates without a published closing date, and it is administered under TIIPIS 2022.

What proof is typically needed?

For a fair claim, you will need the invitation or the organiser's confirmation, tickets and travel bills for one person, goods-transport bills covering the exhibits, and a declaration stating how many fairs have already been claimed during the year.
