About this scheme

## Tripura Industrial Investment Promotion Incentives Scheme, 2022 — Incentive 12

The Department of Industries and Commerce, Government of Tripura, runs the Tripura Industrial Investment Promotion Incentives Scheme, 2022 (TIIPIS 2022). Under it, MSMEs holding Udyam portal registration and ZED Certification from the Ministry of MSME receive a one-time additional subsidy.

The amount payable is fixed by the investment in plant and machinery. The crore figures below are eligibility slabs, not the award itself: (a) plant and machinery up to Rs.1.00 crore — maximum Rs.2.00 lakhs; (b) plant and machinery between Rs.1.00 crore and Rs.10 crore — maximum Rs.5.00 lakhs; (c) plant and machinery above Rs.10 crore — maximum Rs.10.00 lakhs. The largest rupee amount the clause provides for is therefore Rs.10.00 lakhs. The Rs.1.00 crore and Rs.10 crore plant-and-machinery bands should not be mistaken for the subsidy.

This is a standalone incentive — incentive 12 of TIIPIS 2022 — claimed through that scheme's process. It is separate from the main capital investment subsidy and from the standard-certification reimbursement, and it is a one-time extra benefit layered on the rest of TIIPIS rather than a recurring yearly head. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis through the State's SWAAGAT single-window portal at https://swaagat.tripura.gov.in/, and no closing date is advertised.

The payment is a reimbursement-style State subsidy. It is neither a loan nor equity, and it is not repayable; founders retain their equity. To claim, the unit must already be an MSME on Udyam and must already hold ZED certification from the Ministry of MSME. The claim is then placed on whichever plant-and-machinery slab matches the investment actually made. This clause names no sector list and imposes no DPIIT Startup India requirement. Before assigning the unit to the Rs.2.00 lakh, Rs.5.00 lakh, or Rs.10.00 lakh slab, the Department verifies the Udyam registration, the ZED certificate, and the plant-and-machinery investment.

How applications are assessed

There is no competitive element and no pitch stage. Every claim is assessed by the Department of Industries and Commerce against the ZED provision of TIIPIS 2022, which requires Udyam registration, ZED Certification issued by the Ministry of MSME, and proof of investment in plant and machinery. The investment amount serves only to determine the applicable slab — Rs.2.00 lakhs, Rs.5.00 lakhs or Rs.10.00 lakhs at the maximum — and does not by itself constitute the award. A unit without Udyam or ZED does not qualify.

Once verification is complete, the unit is granted the one-time additional subsidy corresponding to its slab. No comparison or ranking between applicants takes place.

Frequently asked questions

What is the highest amount I can receive?

The maximum available is Rs.10.00 lakhs, applicable to the highest plant-and-machinery slab, which covers investment above 10 Cr; the crore figure denotes the investment band, not the award amount.

What are the three slabs?

Businesses with plant and machinery valued at up to ₹1.00 crore can receive a maximum of ₹2.00 lakh; those between ₹1.00 crore and ₹10 crore, up to ₹5.00 lakh; and those above ₹10 crore, up to ₹10.00 lakh.

Who can claim it?

Registered MSMEs on the Udyam portal that hold ZED Certification from the Ministry of MSME are eligible to claim under TIIPIS 2022 in Tripura.

Is this paid every year?

No. This clause provides a one-time additional subsidy or incentive.

Is this a loan or does the State take equity?

It is a subsidy, which means it is equity-free and does not need to be repaid.

Where do I apply?

The Government of Tripura's SWAAGAT single-window portal, at https://swaagat.tripura.gov.in/, handles applications under TIIPIS 2022.
