Water Audit Reimbursement Grant (Andhra Pradesh)

Under the Andhra Pradesh Textile Policy 2024-29 (AP TAG 4.0), this programme extends an incentive to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the textile sector that adopt sustainable practices. It provides financial relief by reimbursing a substantial share of the expenditure incurred on water audits.

Assistance of this kind helps enterprises assess and raise their water efficiency. The resulting gains are threefold: environmental sustainability, lower operating costs for the units, and stronger responsible manufacturing practices across Andhra Pradesh's textile industry.

Both newly set-up units and those undertaking expansion or diversification are intended to benefit, encouraging them to move towards resource-efficient processes. The wider aim is a greener and more competitive textile manufacturing ecosystem in the state.

To claim reimbursement of water audit costs, an eligible enterprise would generally proceed as follows:

- Engage a professional to carry out a water audit of the unit. - Assemble the required paperwork, which includes the full water audit report together with evidence of payment made for the audit services. - File the application form and accompanying documents either via the specified online portal or with the department named in the AP TAG 4.0 policy guidelines. - Make sure every mandatory detail, such as MSME registration and particulars of the enterprise, is furnished correctly. - Wait for the Andhra Pradesh Department of Industries to verify and process the submission.

The Government of Andhra Pradesh reviews each application along with its supporting documents before any reimbursement is sanctioned. This scrutiny covers the enterprise's eligibility — its MSME status, location and sector — as well as whether the water audit report is valid and complete, and whether the expenditure is adequately evidenced.

Disbursement of the reimbursement follows only after these checks are cleared and approval is granted.
